The Best Weekend

This last weekend I took a trip back home and it was such a great weekend and has totally got me excited for going back at Christmas.

On Thursday afternoon I got the train to Alicante, caught a bus to the airport and waited for around 2 hours for my flight. The airport is a lot bigger than I thought it would be and on a side note it does worry me how far into an airport you can get without showing your passport.

My flight was 20:45 pm  to Liverpool and I was convinced the whole way home that something would happen and I wouldn't get home because there was a storm and I could see the lightning from the plane. I arrived at my house about 23:30 pm and it was just such a great feeling to be back home with my family and cats as well as carpets, my own bed and English food.

I had the best night sleep for 3 months that night and on Friday we put the Christmas decorations up which is my favourite job because I'm like a 6 year old when it comes to Christmas. Although when the tree was up, my cat decided to jump on it and knock it over. On Friday night, my brother and I went to see Mockingjay which I found great but my brother didn't but I think that is because I've read the book where as he hasn't and the first half is slower.

Saturday was the main reason that I took this trip home because I went to see ENRIQUE and I have never been so excited. I am literally obsessed with him and I am so glad I've finally been able to see him live. Demi Lovato was his support act which I was very pleased about because I do like Demi but not enough to buy tickets for one of her own concerts. Demi was amazing, she was much better than I thought she would be and Enrique was fantastic. He sang all my favourite songs and it was just a completely amazing night and I literally cannot explain how fantastic he was.

Even though I only had two full days at home it was such a great weekend spending time with my family and cats and now it just makes me so excited to go home for Christmas which is only 2 weeks tomorrow woo!

I just wish it was easier for me to get home as it takes so long. On Sunday I set off from home at 3 am and only got back to my flat at 4:30 pm because once I land in Alicante I have to get a bus, train and then the metro. Although on Sunday night I went to the Mestalla stadium to watch Valencia vs Barcelona which was a great experience and another thing ticked off my year abroad bucket list. Barcelona won 1-0 which I was happy about because I was supporting them but the entire stadium was furious. I'm definitely going to watch a few more matches whilst I'm here.
